Rocker Engraving on brass

Here is my first attempt at a new craft. Thanks to a friend for showing me the correct tool and how to use it. Here are a few of my examples.

Grizzly Bear Claw reproductions

Another batch of claws, 40 to be exact. My client will be very happy !!

Bear Root ( osha root )

I researched this spring all about this root. My first chance to explore I found it at 10,000 foot elevation but very small carrots. The second outing I hit the motherlode, I was passing up smaller shoots seeking the 3 foot tall stems. I am glad to say its easy to find but do your research as there is a poisonous Hemlock that looks the same..

Beaded bottles

On the right is an original beaded bottle from my collection. And on the left is my hand beaded bottle I made also I added tin cones with red dyed horse hair..

Plains Indian Wooden Toy Horses.

I wanted to add a unique idea to my toy horses. I researched pre civil war wooden ammo boxes and most if them were stenciled in some way. Using rough cut lumber I cut these horses and aged a paint job on them..

Plains Indian Awls

Here are several Awls made from materials the Indians would have had. Old forks were recycled along with 50-70 and 45-70 brass shells also with Awls stuck in them.

Bison Parfleche Cutouts

Made from buffalo hide I cut them out and inscribed a simple pattern on them. The bear is a very strong animal and respected among the Plains Indian, also is a bone whistle.

Muslin Ledger Dress

I made a simple muslin dress and and drew a ledger scene on both front and back. She holds her husbands coup stick and proudly displays a dog skin bag. Last she wears a parfleche bonnet with a bear paw motif .

Arrow Making Tools

I have a friend shot a moose last fall and I salvaged the legs to skin for a leg bag. I did save a few bones for the tools seen here... A moose toe bone wrench with a square hole, a 3 hole tool with various sized holes and an original arrow shaft sander made from sandstone.
